CCL Industries Inc, the world's leading provider of specialty labelling, security and packaging solutions, recently started their new 6.2 meter Brückner multilayer shrink film line at their Innovia Films site in Płock, Poland.
This is the world's first polyolefin TD shrink film line dedicated to the production of EcoFloat™ shrink films. This hybrid polyolefin film facilitates the separation of labels from PET bottles and other types of plastic containers in the recycling process to enable bottle-to-bottle recycling, an important step towards a circular economy.
"The new line will enable us to serve the increased demand for high quality, floatable shrink sleeve material from label and sleeve converters. The material has the potential to revolutionize the market and the way packaging is decorated, leading to more sustainable choices," says Günther Birkner, member of the management team at CCL. "The aim of our investment in Poland is to significantly increase the capacity of polyolefin shrink films, which were hardly available before. We are glad to have Brückner Maschinenbau as a long-standing and competent partner who has supported us in this project."
Brückner Maschinenbau is also pleased with the smooth start-up of the line. Helmut Huber, COO, comments: "Design for recycling and the associated achievement of recycling targets is playing an increasingly important role for numerous brands. The nature of labels can play a major role here in terms of reusability and recyclability. We are very proud to be able to take this step towards an improved circular economy together with CCL and Innovia after the successful cooperations of the past years."
