Ettlinger and Maag: High performance melt filters and pelletizers

Ettlinger, a member of the worldwide Maag Group since 2018, will show the next-generation ERF350 as an ultra-high performance model in this melt filter series at the upcoming prs 2018, the dedicated exhibition and conference for plastics recycling in mainland Europe on April 24 and 25 in Amsterdam. Maag, a worldwide leading manufacturer of gear pumps, pelletizing and filtration systems and also pulverizers for demanding applications, will present its new PEARLO® pelletizing system as an ideal complement to Ettlinger's high performance filters on recycling lines at the same booth.
The new ERF 350 separates foreign particles reliably from polymer feedstock containing up to 18% contaminants and provides almost 30% higher throughput than its predecessor, the proven ERF250. Like all Ettlinger ERF filters, it is self-cleaning with a rotating, perforated drum, through which there is a continuous flow of melt from the outside to the inside. A scraper removes the contaminants that are held back on the surface and feeds them to the discharge system. This enables the filter to be used fully automatically and without any disruptions over a period of weeks and months without having to replace the screen. The advantages: ultra-low melt losses and good mixing and homogenizing of the melts. ERF filters are available in three different sizes and achieve a maximum throughput of 6000 kg/h.
PEARLO underwater pelletizing system |
The new PEARLO underwater pelletizing system from Maag, for making spherical pellets, is similarly rated for high throughputs and long runtimes free of interruptions. It combines technologies from Gala and Automatik, which likewise belong to the Maag Group, for efficient and flexible use in challenging applications. The electronically controlled feed of the pelletizing knives ensures consistently high pellet quality. Compact and modularly designed, this machine requires only a very small footprint in the recycling line.
Appropriately, for the Amsterdam venue, Ettlinger will emphasize its recently increased presence in the Benelux region, where the company now cooperates with a new sales partner: Herbert Machines of Merelbeke / Belgium. Through close links with a steadily growing number of local subsidiaries and agencies worldwide, Ettlinger can provide even more extensive support to customers in the future, for instance in the form of more rapidly available spare parts or faster assistance with technical matters.
