A top Russian compounding specialist R&P Polyplastic is expanding its production facilities thanks to one more extrusion line supplied from the Italian extrusion equipment producer ICMA to the company's plant in the town of Engels (southwestern Russia). The recently commissioned line is already the thirteenth in the extrusion park at this production site.
Polyplastic holds a corporate event entitled 'Technical Council' every year; the latest issue of the event was timed to coincide with the launch of the new line. Top management of the company tends to stay close to production needs and challenges, and that is why the event took place at the very production site and not in the firm's head office in Moscow. In addition to an overview of the company's financial performance, the implementation of Polyplastic's investment plan, adherence to lean production, and expansion to new markets were discussed.
CEO of R&P Polyplastic Alexander Pavlov emphasized that the company's executives have purposefully travelled to participate in the event, as to experience how their engineers and technologists perceive the production expansion in person.
The Technical Council event ended up with an award ceremony where the executives expressed congratulations to the champions of the corporate Best Business Idea contest that took place for a month, encouraging any staff member to present any idea (s)he finds beneficial for the company.
