Tomra AUTOSORT LASER |
Remondis GmbH, one of the world's leading waste recycler has installed a new laser sensor-based sorting machine in its Erftstadt facility (Rheinland Germany). The new device manufactured by TOMRA Sorting Recycling is one of its AUTOSORT series machines. It boasts a powerful sensor set making it possible to analyze materials quickly and with a high level of accuracy.
One of the main features of the new machine is its ability to effectively separate various types of glass including opaque from transparent polymers while processing Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). As a result, Remondis GmbH will have better cost-efficiency due to greater quality of output sorted materials.
Installation of the new machine will also have a significant environmental effect. The increase in sorting accuracy will make MSW processing more effective and thus the amount of waste ending up in landfills will lessen.
