Royal DSM, a global science company active in health, nutrition and materials, announced it is in the process of expanding the capacity of its specialty polymers plants in Emmen and Geleen, the Netherlands. DSM Engineering Plastics is responding to strong customer demand in high temperature polyamides (PAs) and thermoplastic copolyesters (TPC) with this expansion.

DSM Engineering Plastics capacity expansion follows solid growth in consumer electronics and automotive markets and the related increasing demand for high performance plastics such as Stanyl® (PA46), ForTii® (PA4T), EcoPaXX® (PA410) and Arnitel® (TPC).
"Our global asset footprint and real time supply network allows us to rapidly respond to meet our customer's requirements", said Paresh Bhakta, VP Global Operations at DSM Engineering Plastics. "To continue to stay in tune with our customer's needs, we have successfully completed expansion projects for our Stanyl, ForTii and EcoPaXX product streams leading to a 50% capacity increase. We are also in the process of bringing 25% additional Arnitel capacity online in 2018."
The investment underlines DSM's commitment to the industry and strenghtens its long-term position as a leader in the high performance plastics market.
