Over 3000 exhibitors from more than 60 countries have registered to par- ticipate. K will occupy the entire Düssel- dorf/Germany exhibition grounds with some 175,000 m² of net exhibition space, and more than 200,000 trade visi- tors from all over the world are expected come to the event. K is the performance barometer for the entire industry and its global market- place for innovations. K 2019 underscores its special position not only through its popularity with the global industry but also by ad- dressing the current challenges of our era and especially of its sector, first and foremost in regard to “plastics for sus- tainable development” and the “circular economy”. These not only will be among the hot topics touched on at the exhibi- tors’ stands at the upcoming K but will also be covered comprehensively in the supporting programme. For example, the special exhibition “Plastics Shape the Future” also sees it- self as a podium for solutions and answ- ers to current social trends and discus- sions. Crucial topics will be discussed in detail, including packaging waste, marine litter and climate change on the one hand and resource conservation, energy efficiency and recycling on the other. “Plastics Shape the Future” not only will offer an international informa- tion and networking platform but will al- so provide for greater involvement of po- licymakers and socially relevant groups in the form of keynote speeches and speed talks.
