Extrusion International 2-2022

10 Extrusion International 2/2022 INDUSTRY NEWS New Business Unit Project Acquisition „ According to management consultancy Falkensteg, the German mechanical and plant engineering sector was the in- dustry most affected by insolvencies in the 2021 year-on-year comparison. However, government support measures continue to keep the overall number of cases low. Nevertheless, the challenges posed by supply bottlenecks, rising raw material and energy prices and industrial structural change remain constant. The pressure on sales with rising credit costs is thus becoming in- creasingly greater for many machinery and plant manufactur- ers. A development fromwhich renowned credit insurers pre- dict an increase in global insolvencies for 2022. The signs of this trend are also visible in the transactional ma- chinery platform GINDUMAC. “We are very close to the pulse of industrial manufacturing. In recentmonths, more andmore companies have asked us about restructuring their produc- tion in order to be able to achieve liquidity in the short term throughmachine sales. Thenumber of offers for plant closures has increased signi fi cantly in the same period,” explains Janek Andre, CEOGINDUMAC. The increasing demand for project services in the context of plant closures has promptedGINDUMAC to create a newbusi- ness unit, Project Acquisition. Oliver Maxeiner, an expert in industrial liquidation, has been recruited for the development of this newdivision. Maxeiner has many years of experience in project acquisition and project marketing of industrial assets. “With the newbusiness division, we are following the signs of the market. With Oliver Maxeiner, we have been able to gain an experienced industry expert and entrepreneurial spirit who knows what is important in the project business in the manu- facturing industry. We are pleased to be able to expand the area of project acquisition in an even more targeted manner with him and to be able to offer our industrial customers an even more comprehensive range of services,” adds Benedikt Ruf, Managing Director GINDUMAC.
