30 Extrusion International 4/2024 30 INDUSTRY NEWS Leadership Change at US Site Announced  BHS-Sonthofen announced the appointment of Garrett Bergquist as new President and General Man- ager of BHS-Sonthofen Inc., effective July 8, 2024. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, BHS-Sonthofen Inc. is the wholly owned subsidiary of BHS-Sonthofen located in Sonthofen, Germany. “We are delighted to welcome Garrett Bergquist back to BHS,” says Dennis Kemmann, CEO of the BHS-Sonthofen group of companies. “Garrett's exten- sive background in chemical engineering and his pro- found understanding of the industry make him the ideal leader for our team in North America.” Bergquist brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the engineering and filtration industries. His role evolved to encompass filtration equipment selection, sizing, scale-up, commis- sioning, and troubleshooting. During that time, through Bergquist’s work as applications engineer, the largest ever indexing belt filter produced by BHS-Sonthofen group, was sold. By the end of his first tenure at BHS in 2021, he had risen to the position of Sales Engineer for the Process Division. In between his tenures at BHS, Bergquist served as the Director of Sales and Business Development at Steri Technologies, a Long Island, NY-based manufacturer of batch filtration equipment. His exemplary work earned him a nomination and election to the American Filtra - tion Society Scientific Committee in 2023.
