This milestone represents a half century of dedication to excellence in manufacturing and commitment to the community. To mark this special occasion, SI Group hosted its annual fishing tournament and family picnic on September 14, 2024. The event showcased the spirit of the company’s Texas-based team with an impressive turnout and a partnership with a local charity, featuring a generous donation to celebrate 50 years. Established in 1974, the company’s Freeport, Texas manufacturing facility remains a major production site for SI Group’s operations in the U.S. This world-class al - kylphenol plant serves customers globally, supported by a workforce of over 100 employees known for their resilience and industry-leading expertise. Even through difficult times such as winter storm Uri, Hurricane Beryl, and other major weather events, the site takes pride in striving for operational excellence while caring for one another, their customers, and the community they serve. SI Group Freeport has been awarded the TCC Car- ing for Texas Award for five consecutive years, recog - nizing its outstanding achievements in safety, commu - nity involvement, and industry leadership. This year’s annual fishing tournament and family pic - nic was all about celebrating SI Group Freeport’s sig - nificant milestone of 50 years in operation. The event brought together company leadership, current and retired employees with their families, and community members for a day of camaraderie and fun. This cher- ished tradition culminated in a final catch weigh-in cel - ebration with participants, highlighting the site’s deep roots in Brazoria County and its longstanding commit - ment to employees and their families. In honor of 50 years, SI Group partnered with the Dream Gifts Program to donate 50 bikes to children in Brazoria County. SI Group www.siigroup.com Radiation Service Provider Expands into the USA  The medium-sized company BGS Beta-Gamma-Service, which has specialised in radiation sterilisa- tion and radiation crosslinking for more than 40 years, is expanding into the USA: with its new location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, BGS is focusing on fully automated radia - tion treatment with e-beam. The aim is to establish a safe and pow- erful alternative to gamma and EtO sterilisation for medical devices. BGS US will commence operations in the middle of next year. The USA is the world's largest and most innovative market for medical technology and continues to show dynamic growth. This increases the demand for sterile medical devices and reliably available sterilisation capacities. Historically, the two technologies gamma irradiation and EtO treatment have strongly dominated the US market for sterili- sation.
