UPM Raflatac has recently presented an addition to its RafBio line of bio- polyethylene films – RafBio PE White. The new material is based on ethanol extracted from sugarcane.
RafBio PE White possesses the same performance characteristics as conventional PE produced from petrochemical sources. However, the carbon footprint, generated through the lifecycle of this material is much lower. The film is well suited for recovering at the existing PE recycling facilities.
The range of possible applications includes various bottles and containers for household chemicals as well as cosmetic products. Merging the material with UPM Raflatac's RP37 adhesive makes it interesting to the labeling segment.
UK-based UPM Raflatac is a well known film and paper supplier with a distinct ecological approach. The company focuses on providing labeling solutions mainly for food and pharma applications.
