Klöckner Pentaplast has made a decision to expand manufacturing capacity of its Pharma & Medical Device Division at the facility located in Gordonsville, Virginia. Opened in 1976, this plant became the company's first production site in the USA.
The USD 25 million long-range investment project will increase the throughput of the plant as well as introduce new technologies, focusing on coating and laminating processes, essential for fabrication of packaging films, mainly used for the protection of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
The state authorities are very enthusiastic about the expansion, supporting it with a $300,000 grant as well as future tax exemptions, as it will create 34 new jobs while strengthening Virginia's position as a business-friendly location.
The renewed facility is expected to become fully operational in 2020. This project goes in line with Klöckner Pentaplast's global expansion efforts.
