True-Melt-Sensor |
Nominal Controls Inc. Toronto, Ontario introduces True-Melt™ pressure transducers designed for low pressure extrusions. True-Melt™ transducers feature advanced temperature compensation that automatically corrects for thermal zero shift errors. This enables new feasibility in measurement of extremely low melt pressure (eg. <500psi) at high temperatures (eg. >300°F).
For low pressure extrusion applications, thermal-zero-shift errors could impede measurement accuracy by as much as 25%FSO. True-Melt™ transducers is reported to have a thermal zero shift rating of less than 5psi/100°F compared with 60psi/100°F from that of typical sensors. "This innovation will enable new processing capabilities in polymer, aerospace, and other scientific applications." says lead engineer, Mike, winner of 2018 Canada Plastics Innovator Award.
True-Melt™ pressure transducers currently support pressure ranges between 0-500psi to 0-5,000psi at up to 750°F. Available with 3.33mV/V, 4-20mA, or 0-10VDC signal output, these transducers can be further customized to meet users' exact needs.
