Strategic alliance with AdvanSix opens supply network across North America
When OPP Film decided to invest in the currently largest and most productive BOPA production line worldwide, they had in mind to serve Latin and North American as well as European markets. Recently this brand-new 6.6m wide Brückner line started smoothly and in time at OPP’s site in Chilca, Peru. It has been producing top-quality BOPA packaging and specialty films – e.g. for balloons or survival blankets – ever since start-up.
The company’s Technical Director, Erik Sosa, says: “Strengthening our BOPA film production capacity by investing in a new, top-modern line was a long-sighted decision, as such films in highest quality are in demand worldwide. It now pays of through our strategic cooperation with AdvanSix, a leading Nylon 6 and BOPA film supplier. Combining their extensive supply network across North America and our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Peru is for mutual benefit.”
OPP Film, a member of Oben Holding Group, is producing polypropylene, polyester and nylon films used for flexible packaging; coated films for the graphic industry and thermoformed polypropylene products. Today, 10 manufacturing plants, 4 distribution centers and 2 sales offices within 11 countries makes the company the No. 1 producer of biaxially oriented films in the Americas.
