Envicco joint venture deal for plastics recycling plant completed

The European Commission has approved the acquisition of Envicco Limited by PTT Global Chemical, Thailand, and Austrian plastic packaging company Alpla. Envicco will be created as part of the proposed transaction and will produce recycled plastics made from post-consumed packaging on the site in Rayong province, Thailand.
The Commission concluded that the transaction would raise no competition concerns because the overlaps between the activities of the companies involved are very limited. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. The first packaging waste recycling plant on the production site in Thailand is planned to be launched in late 2021.
