Greiner Extrusion acquires the majority shareholding in the northern Italian company Simplas, who is a specialist in the field of flat dies. The Austrian manufacturer of extrusion lines, tools and complete systems for profile extrusion is thereby strengthening its commitment to the plastic film and sheet extrusion segment.
Greiner Extrusion has been cooperating as a minority owner with the Italian toolmaker Simplas since 2018. By taking over the majority shareholding on the 1st of July 2020, both companies are further strengthening their global sales as well as their production and service for flat dies and feedblocks. At the same time, a service base was opened at the Nußbach location so that Simplas extrusion customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland may benefit from rapid and professional service.
In Varese, Italy, Simplas offers additional capacity for the precision production of film and sheet dies with a new machining centre. On top of this, the close interlocking of the production sites of Greiner Extrusion and Simplas will allow throughput times to be optimised and increases flexibility in order processing for customers.
In the field of die rework, a separate service team was installed at the Italian die manufacturer. This team is able to operate unaffected by the ongoing tool production and to provide services on a larger scale. Another advantage for the customer is the fact that service and spare parts orders for Simplas nozzles as well as for all third-party products can be processed more quickly.
