Pipe producer Aliaxis strengthens its position in India and USA
A new plant in Durgapur |
Aliaxis continues to expand its operations in India and has opened a new plant in Durgapur, in north-eastern India. The Durgapur area offers several logistical advantages: it is located along the national Delhi-Kolkata highway, which allows us to better serve customers in the entire eastern part of India, and facilitates faster transit times for deliveries and freight advantages. The new plant is already fully operational, manufacturing High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes.
“Our new Durgapur site will no doubt serve as a model for the future expansion of our operations in India,” says Rajeev Chawla, Ashirvad’s Chief Operating Officer. “Moreover, the plant is spread out over nine acres of land, which will facilitate our expansion opportunities.”
Most recently, Aliaxis announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Harco, a producer of fittings located in Virginia, USA.
This move is part of Aliaxis’ “Growth with Purpose” strategy. Through this acquisition, Aliaxis further expands its presence in the United States. Harco, a US manufacturer of gasketed fittings, brings more than 55 years of industry expertise. Harco’s annual revenues were roughly $75 million in 2021. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval.
CEO Eric Olsen comments: “Harco is a well-established brand in municipal, irrigation and agriculture end-markets. With this acquisition, we will continue to strengthen our presence in the US. Harco will be part of IPEX, Aliaxis’ leading brand in the region, and will result in an expanded product portfolio to a broader customer base. We are pleased to welcome Harco to the Aliaxis family.”
