Lifocolor has developed a special white masterbatch for the needs-based white colouring of pharmaceutical packaging and drug packaging.
White is the colour most often used for packaging and accessories from the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. This is no coincidence, as the colour white is considered pure, aesthetic and is said to promote healing. Lifocolor has developed a special white masterbatch for the needs-based white colouring of pharmaceutical packaging and drug packaging.
POWERFUL WHITE CONCENTRATE FOR MEDICINE & PHARMACY
Lifocolor White 60/MED PE on LDPE carrier base is used for colouring packaging and applications made of polyolefins (PE, PP) such as containers (cans, jars, tubes, capsules, buckets, canisters, pill containers) as well as bottles, caps, closures, applicators, dosage aids or blisters. Due to the high content of 60 percent of a selected titanium dioxide, it imparts an intense white with high opacity, excellent lightfastness and dispersion. In this way, an intensive colour result is achieved even with a low let-down-ration of one to two percent.
Lifocolor White 60/MED PE has the necessary approvals 10/2011 EU and FDA for food contact. In addition, it has been tested by an independent institute with regard to the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur., 10th edition, 2020), the reference work for the quality control of medicinal products in Europe, with regard to 3.1 „Material for the manufacture of containers“ and 3.1.3 „Polyolefins“. Under these conditions and with a maximum let-down-ratio of the masterbatch of 6.5 percent, an approval of the coloured final article according to European Pharmacopoeia can be achieved.
