Baldwin Showcased Automatic Film Cylinder Cleaning Equipment at K 2016

At K-Messe in Düsseldorf Baldwin showcased new technology specifically developed for the Plastic Film industry; Baldwin Film Cylinder Cleaning, FCC. This technology is based on 40 years’ experience from Surface Cleaning with more than 20.000 installations worldwide in industries with high performance demands related to machine efficiency, such as Offset printing, Flexo Corrugated and Chill Rollers.

Automation increases output capabilities and improves worker conditions

Today, the cleaning process within the extrusion industry is carried out manually, involving both worker safety and health risks. The process also has a significant negative impact on productivity, causing downtime on the extrusion lines, reduced quality and additional costs for waste. Baldwin has developed a new solution; full automatic cleaning of cast cylinders and chill rollers for the Plastic Film industry. The Film Cylinder Cleaning technology delivers value to customers through; reduced waste, less downtime, constant film quality. All while removing the worker health and safety issues related to manual cleaning of the cylinder surface and its exposure to cleaning agent adds to the improved safety for the machine operators. Baldwin offers FDA/NSF approved solvents to be used with the system.

Customized solutions or retrofits

Baldwin offers and sells customized solutions for both new machines and retrofit machines and cooperates with known OEMs like Brückner, SML, Reifenhäuser, Bandera, Diamat and Breyer. Following successful Installations in e.g. Japan, China, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Spain, India and the US, the number of satisfied Plastic and Film customers continues to increase as we roll out this game changing technology. Baldwin already today has our global Sales & Service organization in place to support the customers.
