Marchante steps into India's First-Ever “The Battery Show” Event
As a frequent attendee, MARCHANTE is excited to announce its presence at The Battery Show debut in India on October 4th, 2023 together with our partner IndyGreen Technologies.
This event holds an immense significance for both India and its battery market. The country’s key role in hosting this event is its commitment to expand the battery market, attracting investors and experts, and promoting local manufacturing. With plans to achieve 30% electric vehicle adoption by 2030, in line with global sustainability goals, this not only boosts the Indian battery market but also sets the stage for substantial growth, potentially exceeding $10 billion between 2023 and 2028 (Mordor Intelligence Research & Advisory.,2023).

After our 3 participations at the TBS Europe edition, we consider this a great opportunity to enterand make our mark in the Indian battery market. This is particularly significant given our presence inthe Asian market for renewable energy solutions, such as Battery Separator Film production lines,BOPP Capacitor film production lines and other developments for high temperature films. We believe India has great potential and is a promising market to expand our vision through our technology that provides many advantages making it easier for producers and experts to reach their goals within the next few years.
What does MARCHANTE have to offer ?
A battery separator is a porous membrane positioned between the anode and cathode of the battery, effectively maintaining a separation between the two electrodes to prevent any electrical short circuits while allowing the transfer of ions. Two production methods are commonly used : the dry approach employs mechanical force to generate pores, and the wet method entails introducing additives to the polyolefin film material, constituting a chemical process for pore formation.

As extrusion and biaxial stretching experts, MARCHANTE puts its technology at the service of separator producers to improve quality, productivity of their line and safety of the separator. Our simultaneous stretching system, MASIM, is a prime example, alongside MDO (Machine Direction Orienter) and TDO (Transverse Direction Orienter) systems.
MASIM is a state-of-the-art mechanical tenter that can stretch plastic films on both the machine and transverse directions simultaneously, and enhances Lithium-ion Battery Separator production by ensuring a better homogeneity of the porosity, lower energy use, and reduced thickness for wet process, while producing more square meters of film.
The machine's precise stretching process allows for a uniform distribution of the film's thickness and porosity, which is essential in applications where the film's performance is critical. For separator films, MARCHANTE stretching technologies can reach thicknesses down to 5μ, and down to 2μ for capacitor films as an example.
About MARCHANTE
MARCHANTE is a family-owned company, specializing in designing extrusion lines for biaxially oriented plastic films. Founded in 2010, by Innocent Marchante, with 30 years of industry experience (Cellier, DMT), the company conducts a significant portion of its business through exports, customizing film production lines for Asia, Latin America, and Europe, covering technical films (including BatterySeparator films, Capacitor films), packaging (BOPP, BOPA, Monomaterial BOPE, BOPET), and more.As the company achieved remarkable growth and profitability, in 2021, MARCHANTE opened its Innovation Center (MIC) composed of a cast extrusion line and a dynamic stretching simulator, with the support of BPI France and the AURA Region, dedicated to researching film applications, especially in recyclable packaging. MARCHANTE’s global presence and commitment to innovation make it a significant player in the film production industry, working toward a more sustainable and safer future.
