Brand-new instrument for high-temperature applications

Brand-new instrument for high-temperature applications

News 26.12.2024

The new Differential Scanning Calorimeter DSC 500 Pegasus®, builds upon NETZSCH’s proven high-temperature platform, already trusted by universities and industries globally for its reliability and precision.

NETZSCH DSC500 Sensor System

For optimizing the baseline, a micrometer adjustment system is integrated into the measurement part

The latest analysis instrument combines this robust foundation with a modern user interface featuring an innovative light communication unit and an integrated touch display. This intuitive high-temperature DSC streamlines the entire process, from instrument setup to real-time monitoring and data analysis, significantly reducing manual tasks and enhancing lab efficiency.

Modular Design for Unmatched Flexibility
The modular design of the NETZSCH DSC 500 Pegasus® allows for the flexible adaption to a wide range of applications. Key configurable options include:
1. Various Furnaces
• Different furnace types to cover a temperature range from -150°C to 2000°C.
• Easily interchangeable furnaces for special applications

2. Dual Hoist System
• Simultaneous installation of two furnaces for rapid transitions across applications or temperature ranges.
• Option for a single furnace with an automatic sample changer for continuous, uninterrupted measurements.

3. Interchangeable Sensor System
• Versatility for DTA mode, traditional DSC mode, or high-precision DSC-cp mode, simply by simply swapping sensors.

Precision Engineering for Reliable Results
The NETZSCH DSC 500 is designed for precision and reproducibility. It meets unique challenges of high-temperature thermal analysis. Benefit from a fixed sensor arrangement adjustable with micrometer precision for tasks like specific heat capacity determination. Heat capacity is a material-specific physical quantity, determined by the amount of heat supplied to specimen, divided by the resulting temperature increase. The specific heat capacity is related to a unit mass of the specimen. Advanced atmospheric control, including dedicated mass flow controllers and a vacuum-tight chamber, enables measurements free from unwanted reactions or contamination.

The AutoVac system simplifies operations by automating chamber evacuation, while the optional Oxygen Trap System (OTS®) ensures ultra-pure environments.
Powerful Proteus® Measurement and Analysis Software
The DSC 500 Pegasus® comes with our state-of-the-art Proteus® software, designed to simplify workflows and enhance data analysis, like:
• AutoEvaluation: Automates common evaluation tasks for faster results.
• Identify: Quickly compares your data with a comprehensive material database for rapid sample identification.
• Specific Heat Capacity Determination: Provides tools for both the ratio method and heat flow calculations, adhering to ASTM and DIN standards.

Explore the Future of Thermal Analysis
The DSC 500 Pegasus® is another testimony to NETZSCH’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology for the most demanding applications. Its precision, flexibility, and user-friendly features make it an invaluable addition to any laboratory. Whether you’re conducting academic research or industrial development, this NETZSCH DSC will elevate your work to new heights.
