Anton Paar GmbH presents two new instruments: SAXSpoint 700 and SAXSpoint 500. Both use the small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) method – a technique in which X-rays are directed at a sample to obtain information on the structure of materials in the nanometer range. The devices enable detailed analyses of particle sizes, shapes and internal structures and can be used for a wide range of applications.
Both systems deliver high-precision measurement results and are suitable for a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, chemistry, materials science and biotechnology. Thanks to modern software solutions such as SAXSdrive™ and SAXSanalysis™, measurements can be carried out automatically with simple and straight-forward data analysis. The continuous software updates ensure that users always benefit from the latest developments.
SAXSpoint 700 – Flexibility for complex analyses
SAXSpoint 700 is designed for demanding research. Its spacious measuring chamber allows experiments with the sample being in vacuum as well as in air. With its motorized detector, the distance between sample and detector can be automatically adjusted, providing a high degree of flexibility for different applications. In addition, SAXSpoint 700 with RheoSAXS integration supports the simultaneous analysis of structural properties of materials and their flow behavior.
SAXSpoint 500 – Efficiency for routine analyses
SAXSpoint 500 is ideal for routine analyses in laboratories with regularly recurring measurements. The instrument is based on the proven SAXSpoint 2.0 and has been optimized in terms of usability and cost. The system is particularly suitable for the determination of particle sizes in pharmaceutical or chemical products as well as for the analysis of nanomaterials. With the optional low-volume sampler module, biological samples such as proteins can also be analyzed highly efficiently requiring only very low sample volumes.
