IPEX, a manufacturer of plastic pipes and fittings, announced the grand opening of the IPEX Centre for Advanced Research, an investment of over $30 million in a state-of-the-art facility, dedicated to accelerating product innovation and reinforcing the company’s manufacturing operations across North America.
Located in Mississauga, Ontario, the new Centre consolidates IPEX’s innovation processes and will enable the company to bring new products to market faster, while continuing to develop sustainable and reliable piping solutions. The facility will serve a range of customer needs across municipal, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors.
The facility features over 50,000 sq. ft of operational space dedicated to testing and developing new products, trialing new material formulations, office space, and a training and collaboration area where customers can co-create and experience new product innovations firsthand. IPEX will employ advanced technologies, including 3D printing and AI to further streamline product development.
“Our new innovation hub is a significant investment in our ability to develop high-quality, safe and easy to install products that meet the needs of our customers, while supporting our communities” said Alex Mestres, Chief Executive Officer at IPEX. “For more than 50 years, our R&D teams have collaborated closely with our customers to stay ahead of market demands, evolving regulations and environmental changes to develop products and exceed industry expectations. Our new Centre for Advanced Research marks a new chapter in our innovation history and capability.”
The new IPEX Centre for Advanced Research will improve the company’s product testing and iteration capabilities, giving engineers and materials specialists more opportunities to collaborate, experiment and create.
