Bandera and PTi have already supplied several extrusion systems for PET sheet production last year. Today, the two manufacturers are partnering again for the project on a complex extruder group. The new production system will enable the manufacture of innovative five-layer, rigid and semi-foamed PET sheet. This exclusive concept, to be commissioned in the first half of 2017, is chiefly aimed at food packaging.
A top global packaging supplier chose co-rotating twin-screw extruders (HVTSE) by Bandera in combination with automation and downstream equipment by PTi. The packaging specialist was focused on finding a renowned rigid sheet technology in order to expand their presence in the North American market with manufacture of semi-foamed sheet.
Collaboration synergy between PTi and Bandera dates back to 2010. The two companies provided joint technology solutions for rigid PET sheet production in the U.S. market, enabling extrusion technology to be coupled with rapid and efficient services for local converters.
North American packaging industry is looking for increased complete system flexibility to be able to process products based on a wide number of polymers, including biodegradable resins and recyclates. PTi and Bandera create value for their customers through the joint supply of innovations in extrusion, the best fit for addressing the said market challenges.
