Embalixo is the top national producer of waste bags in Brazil. The company has just started the production of packaging made of renewable-source plastic material, aiming at improving diaper disposal. Embalixo Baby bags boast integrated smell remover, lavender fragrance, plus easy-closing flaps. The bags will be first supplied to drugstores in the state of São Paulo, followed by major supermarket chains in Brazil.
The new bags are manufactured from Green Plastic, a 100% recyclable material derived from sugarcane ethanol. It is supplied by Braskem, the top producer of thermoplastics in the New World. The key benefit of this PE material is the reduction of atmospheric greenhouse gas emissions, as CO2 is captured during production. Just as conventional PE, Green Plastic does not require equipment modification.
Customers can easily identify Embalixo waste bags thanks to "I'm greenT" logo on both sides of a bag. Every item produced with Braskem sugarcane-based polymers bears this logo.
Green Plastic has been used by Embalixo since 2011. Rafael Costa, Commercial Director of the company, explains: "This product is revolutionary in the waste bag market in the country. Since Embalixo always aims at the well-being of its customers, we have been able to unify the best in the world market. That is, a product from a renewable source, with odor neutralization, lavender fragrance, and an unprecedented flap system for closing. In addition to neutralizing bad odor of diapers, the innovation makes the environment much more pleasant."
