The heads are offered with a com- plete range of accessories and interface units for optimal inte- gration into almost any process and thus can be used for all products. Options, such as diagnostic output, input/output for synchronization of multiple ODAC ® measuring heads, calibra- tion standards, limiting support and splash guards are offered, and different versions are available to work with different pro- cessors and interfaces. Both heads up to deliver 2000 scans per second and high precision and they feature compact and rug- ged design, flexible mounting, the availability or special beam geometries (narrow or parallel) and different measuring modes: diameter, gap, penetration and multiple measurements. Diameter & Ovality Measurement : The ODAC ® TRIO mea- suring heads are based on Zumbach’s vast experience, gained over many years of designing and manufacturing optical dia- meter gauges. The program of three-axis laser measuring heads cover a measuring field of up to 110 mm (4.33 in.). Since com- missioning the first system, three-axis measurement has been hugely successful. The accurate detection of out-of-round con- dition, regardless of the orientation of the product ovality in combination with reliable and fast diameter measurement as well as other valuable functions, are features that no ODAC ® TRIO customer should do without. Advantages include synchronized measurement axes on one single plane, ultra compact design, reliable detection of mean value regardless of the orientation of the product ovality, accu- rate computation of circumference and cross section, increased measurement accuracy and reliability, integrated fault detector that offers three times higher detection certainty and sensitivity than two-axis models and available interfaces including J stan- dard for USYS, RS-232/-422/-485, Profibus DP, Profinet IO, Ethernet and EtherNet/IP. Lump & Neckdown Detection of the Highest Level For continuous quality control, lump & neckdown detectors are as important as diameter gauges and spark testers. The line of KW 13TRIO and KW 33TRIO detectors capture with the highest accuracy, reliability and velocity even the smallest lumps and neck downs in wires, conductors, optical fibres, cables, tubes and hoses. Thanks to the separate operating and display unit BAE 2 KW, the KW 13TRIO and KW 33TRIO can be fully opera- ted and configured at the device. This unit features an illumina- ted graphic module to display values and messages, red, yellow and green tolerance indicators for signalling operating states, a keyboard with function keys and a numeric keypad for manual instrument setting. The BAE 2 KW can be fixed at the operator station by means of the included wall mounting bracket (swivelling) or on the table. Thanks to its very compact design, the KW 13TRIO and KW 33TRIO fault detectors can easily be integrated in any extrusion line or rewinding process. The mea- suring field is dimensioned in such a way that during the start- up, even extremely big lumps pass smoothly through. Its open design enables quick and easy threading of the product without stopping production. A powerful micro processor as well as full digital signal process- ing, makes this lump & neckdown detector an essential tool for faultless quality control.
