SAVEOMAT i生产线 –精确地管理复杂配方 SAVEOMAT i-Line – Precise management of complex recipes The significant differences between these two systems are in the technical generation of the THz waves and in the number of sensors. QUANTUM generates waves optically by way of a laser, thus very high frequencies and a very broad spectrum are obtained. QUANTUM is therefore particularly suitable for the measurement of thin layers or multiple layers. Whereas WARP generates THz waves electronically by way of an iNOEX micro- chip. It is suitable for the measurement of large or average-siz- ed wall thicknesses, starting at 5 mm. The number of sensors and their distribution distinguish the two systems. QUANTUM features one sensor which reverses around the pipe. Coverage is a full 360 ° along the full circum- ference of the pipe. WARP uses static sensors which are aligned around the pipe. They measure the pipe continuously and in parallel. This is called a „real“ 100 % measurement as every spot of the pipe is included in the inspection process, indepen- dent of the pipe dimension or the line speed. The specially de- signed optical unit allows to focus the THz waves on the pipe centre. Sensors are aligned in a way to make measuring spots overlap so that a strict in- spection is guaranteed also in extrusion direc- tion. The high-precision Terahertz system made by iNOEX offers savings in time and material. Based on the comprehensive data logging, precious insight into the production process is gained. This information can be used to in- crease the extrusion line’s efficiency.
