Macro Engineering and Techno- logy has earned its extensive re- putation for delivering un- matched technology, flawless execution and after sales support for the most efficient process with over 60 Macro bi-ax lines running worldwide. The newest Quadex™ line has just been suc- cessfully installed at a customer in South America. n Macro Engineering and Technology, a leading supplier of film and sheet extru- sion systems, has recently enhanced its Quadex™ bi-axially oriented multiple- bubble lines for the production of films with Nylon and EVOH, particularly for bone-in-meat high barrier shrink bags. Macro has developed the process and the right combination of materials for a successful product. This line offers the la- test bi-ax process technology, computer- based automation, and overall control. Line features: • Different configurations include 7, 9 or 11 layers • Ability to run up to three layers of nylon layers with the main barrier layer being EVOH • Film width from 200 to 500 mm • Film thickness from 40 to 90 microns Bi-axially oriented Line for Bone-in Applications ➠ Welex www.welex.com ➠ Graham Engineering www.grahamengineering thography. They also work with several experienced printing partners to apply high-quality graphics to their products. n A Welex Evolution ® sheet extrusion line from Graham Engineering Corporati- on has given custom sheet processor Pro Ex Extrusion a thin-gauge capability not generally found among custom sheet houses. In 2017, Pro Ex partnered with Graham Engineering to specify a Welex Evolution sheet line that would expand its capabili- ty and capacity. Commissioned in December 2017, the dual-resin PET/PP li- ne features a 5” (130 mm) extruder with the flexibility to expand to co-extrusion. The J-stack configuration features roll- skewing and electric gap adjustment un- der full hydraulic load followed by a unique arrangement of auxiliary cooling rolls, each independently driven, heated, and cooled. Based in Oskosh, Wisconsin, Pro Ex Extru- sion is a recycler and manufacturer of cus- tom and proprietary plastic products, in- cluding sheet, roll stock, profile, injection molding, polymeric compounds, and packaging technologies for several indus- tries. He says: “Many sheet houses are able to produce PET/RPET at 15-18-20 mil. The ability to manufacture high quality polyester at 10-12-14 mil expands our capability to serve more demanding applications and gives us a capability not generally found among custom sheet houses. Adding the ability to run high quality clear and colored polypropylene on the same sheet extrusion line as thin as 15 mil truly differentiates us in the market.”
