The new CBright 400 NL non-leafing alumi- nium pastes provide good opacity, excel- lent whiteness and adhesion properties with elegant metallic effect – a high qua- lity paste that I know our customers will find irresistible.” The pigments are supplied as pastes in various solvent carriers depending on end use. Typical applications of the CBright series include automotive, indus- trial and plastic coatings, as well as deco- rative paints. n VELOX introduces a new line of silver dollar based non-leafing aluminium pastes from aluminium pigments manu- facturer Carlfors Bruk. Developed for sol- vent borne printing inks, the CBright 400 NL pastes have very good substrate and intercoat adhesion properties suitable for printing on various substrates, including flexible packaging and plastics. Following significant investment at its production facility in Huskvarna, Swe- den, Carlfors Bruk has added a new line of grades to its CBright series. The silver dollar based non-leafing pastes complete their range of products for the printing ink industry with a focus on brilliance and increased opacity (hiding power). “Carlfors Bruk, which is a family-owned Swedish manufacturer founded in 1898, has many years of experience in alumini- um pigment production and has been a long-term, valued supplier to VELOX,” says Olaf Knispel, Product Manager, VELOX. “Their investment in a new building and modern production equip- ment is testament to Carlfors Bruk’s commitment to proving the highest-qua- lity products to the industry, confirming New CBright Non-Leafing Aluminium Pastes for Printing Ink Applications ➠ Guill Tool & Engineering www.guill.com duct to length. While cost and value stream activities are reduced, quality is improved. Only one extrusion run is needed to produce a finished product, as opposed to multiple extrusion runs with tooling changes along with a manual as- sembly operation to connect different tubing shapes. Guill’s new reciprocating head eliminates an assembly operation. It also eliminates in-process inventory. Thus, there is no need for storage of va- rious tubing shapes and connectors needed for assembly, fulfillment of orders and replenishment of finished goods. Furthermore, the reciprocating head eli- minates a connecting piece, allows JIT production and products made-to-order. Lastly, it reduces total run time from re- ceiving the order to shipping. ➠ Ampacet www.ampacet.com n Ampacet, a premier global provider of masterbatch and additive materials, ser- vices and solutions, has introduced Anti- static Masterbatch 6000025-E, designed for polystyrene (PS) sheets used in dry environments. PS thermoformed sheets, like most plastic articles, are subject to dust pick-up during storage due tot he inherent static nature of polystryrene. Conventional antistatic solutions for PS sheets, trays and cups generally perform well uinder typical usage conditions (50% relative humidity). When these PS products are used in very low humidity environments, however, they often lose their antistatic properties, leading to dust pic-up and electrostatic discharge. Ampacet’s Antistatic Masterbatch 6000025-E, specially formulated for use in polystyrene cups and thermoforming sheets, helps to eliminate dust accumu- lation and related aesthetic and contami- nation issues that may occur when PS products are stored and used in dry cli- matic environments. Antistatic Masterbatch Solutions launched ➠ Luigi Bandera SpA luigibandera.com and with six projects to develop through 2018 and 2019, China has always played a key role in Bandera’s turnover. The Eu- ropean and South East Asia market are very important too: from the beginning of 2017 to the present, Bandera has re- ceived orders from Italian, Polish and Malaysian producers. For the future Bandera is planning to keep improving the components of the HDB lines in order to guarantee increas- ingly efficient products and to switch from a standard 3-layer configuration to a 5-layer one taking advantage of its great flexibility and its optimized mecha- nical features, which ensure a very high standard. n Over the last few years, the Heavy Du- ty Bags industry has been working to re- duce film thickness and increase output. Since the beginning, Bandera has faced this new challenge by investigating, with their partners, specific solutions to meet customer need. The triple-flow cooling ring represents one of Bandera’s cutting-edge products. It has been technically improved and combined with the innovative design ex- trusion heads and the integrated thick- ness control and allows a significant in- crease of the output as well as a conside- rable improvement of both the physical and mechanical features of the film. Bandera’s HDBFlex ® lines are more and more appreciated and sought-after on the market. Most of all in the HDB sector The Heavy Duty Bags market keeps growing
