Climate protection and economic purchase interests of the customer do not contradict each other
"Enersave" series: High savings potential |
The technologies in focus are efficiency solutions that are already being used by numerous customers. gwk has succeeded in bringing the challenge of market-ready efficiency, climate protection technology and economic purchasing criteria down to a common denominator. Many of the systems offered in the field of cooling and temperature control technology pay for themselves in the shortest possible time. Amortisation periods of well under 2 years are not uncommon. For applications in which the payback period normally exceeds 2 years, the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy offers appropriate funding opportunities for the investment of the efficiency measure, which are aimed at CO2 reduction. In combination with these subsidies, the additional investments for the efficient products from the gwk programme are usually also amortised in a very short time. Therefore, climate protection must not be the last objective to be considered due to economic purchasing interests.
CO2 reduction takes precedence over CO2 compensation
In the gwk Efficiency Lounge, individual examples will be analysed at the exhibition booth on the basis of potential savings and compared with the CO2 emission values of flights and the CO2 compensation capability of trees. The results will impress you. At the same time, gwk makes a clear statement regarding the use of efficient cooling and temperature control technologies at the K trade fair. Why? Because a CO2 reduction is always better than compensating CO2 emissions with replacement measures. gwk shows that the technologies for this are already available and at investment costs that are economically justifiable.
The potentials of selected exhibits are exemplary:
Efficient pump technology in compact temperature control units
The highly efficient temperature control unit series “enersave”—which, by the way, is eligible for government funding—presents the key to efficiency with the centrifugal pump installed in this product. Average energy savings of 62% compared to conventional design methods have already been achieved. Due to the higher performance, it was also possible to replace a total of 3 - 4 standard temperature control units with just one unit.
Control valves with lower energy consumption installed at active water distributors
By applying a relatively small design variation, gwk uses its active process control—the integrat direct—in order to reduce the energy consumption of its water distribution system by 98%. This high saving is made possible by the use of motor control valves. These devices are specially designed for this application and serve as a replacement for the proportional valves which are more susceptible to malfunctions and are commonly used on the market.
Precise temperature increase with dynamic mould temperature control
Compared to conventional fluid switching systems, the energy consumption can also be reduced by up to 98% with the integrat evolution, a dynamic cavity temperature control unit. In this case, the high-performance ceramic power heaters, which are placed inside the mould near the cavity, are responsible for the savings.
Efficient fan control with EC fans
Many conventional cooling systems are equipped with a stepped fan speed control unit at the recoolers. However, the gwk hermeticool free coolers are different. These coolers use EC fans with infinitely variable speed control. Due to their design, EC motors are more efficient and save up to 70% electricity compared to conventional fan motors. The infinitely variable speed control ensures that an additional efficiency effect is achieved.
High savings potential through adiabatic cooling
By exploiting cold ambient air, enormous savings potentials can also be achieved. When using an intelligent system control unit, a natural adiabatic hermeticool hybrid air cooler assumes the cooling of the consumers as much as possible. The refrigeration compressor of a refrigerating machine switches on only on warmer days. Combined with the gwk energy saving module with a sliding condensation pressure control, an energy consumption reduction of more than 30% can be achieved compared to conventional technology.
Subsidies and financing concepts help to implement efficient measures quickly
Less efficient technologies are still often cheaper than comparable efficient technologies. In order to ensure that efficient technologies can be used more quickly and more comprehensively in the interests of our environment, numerous funding opportunities and financing concepts are available. SMEs can receive up to 40% of the eligible investment and large companies may receive up to 30% funding. In one funding module, for example, the pump efficiency determines the eligibility for funding, while in another module the level of CO2 savings determines the level of funding. In recent months, gwk has been intensively involved with the new funding opportunities and can provide valuable support in this respect.
gwk offers consistently efficient alternatives
In other industries, such as compressed air systems, it has long been a matter of course for a supplier to offer its customers an efficient solution in addition to an inexpensive standard version. gwk is probably the first manufacturer of temperature control units to offer its customers a highly efficient unit design for the temperature range up to 140°C over the entire output range from 6- 72 kW heating capacity and up to 500 l/min flow rate. In addition, gwk offers an inexpensive and commercially available standard version.
Highly efficient enersave series also available with OPC-UA/EUROMAP 82.1
The entire enersave series of temperature control units is already available with the new EUROMAP 82.1 interface. This means that integrated speed-controlled pumps and other specified set values can be controlled via the machine control system. Data and alarm logging is now also possible within the control system of the production machine.
