A new BOPA (Nylon) manufacturing facility in Peru will start operations during the first quarter this year. The new cutting-edge 6.6-meter-wide line will have a production capacity of 13,000 MT/year, that added to the company’s current capacity in Chile, will increase Oben Group's total BOPA capacity to 20,000 MT/year.
As many may know, the main characteristics of the nylon films are their excellent gas, aroma and liquid barriers; their resistance to puncture, to chemicals as well as to high and low temperatures. They are mostly used in cheese, sausage, seafood and meat packaging, vacuum and retort packaging, some pharmaceutical applications, and in party balloons that hold helium, among other applications.
This new product in Oben Holdings’ facility in Peru will allow the company to further strengthen its current product portfolio, which includes BOPP, CPP, BOPET, BOPA, Metalized Films and Coated Products; offering more specialty films and new developments with a value-added proposition to generate savings and better lead times to the customers.
