GOEBEL IMS presents its high-precision slitter rewinder RAPID D1 at ICE Europe 2017

Operating in the value chain between raw material and end product, converters see themselves confronted with a wide range of expectations. The ability to answer fast and precisely to their customer's needs, to develop custom-made solutions for different materials and to deliver highest quality – all those demands have to be met. Consequently, converters ask for machines that offer highest flexibility in all areas of application, low maintenance and operating costs and easy changes. Only with such equipment, converters can succeed in quick changes of material and produce efficiently also in small lot sizes.

At ICE Europe 2017 in Munich, Germany, the world's leading exhibition for the paper, film and foil converting industry, GOEBEL IMS presents wide range of converting machines that answers the industry's expectations: Representative, the established manufacturer shows its RAPID D1 from March 21st to 23rd at booth A6/267. The slitter rewinder, with more than 2,500 machines sold one of the industry's best selling machines, is a success story and adds to the existing RAPID series with yet another high-precision machine. RAPID D1 offers extraordinary flexibility, both with material and slitting widths, high productivity and availability and best quality especially with narrow finished rolls. All RAPID machines, such as standard model RAPID D and the partly automated RAPID A, can convert standard material. RAPID series is a good choice when it comes to special applications such as narrow cuts for the cable and electric industries, board packaging lines, tea tags or siliconized papers and separator films. The machine series allows for working widths of up to 2,000 mm, material weights from 10 g/m2 to 500 g/m2 and speeds of up to 1,000 m/min.

RAPID D1 is characterized through its special slitting and winding technique for narrow cuts from 5 mm. GOEBEL IMS' unique system, consisting of an innovative assembly of top and bottom cutters, spreader roller and an especially short web travel from unwind unit to winding station, allows for best roll quality in block winding. According to the producer, due to its design, RAPID D1 is the best choice for applications that require a precise print-to-cut accuracy; it facilitates accuracies of 0,1 mm. Reduced operating costs is another advantage of the machine: Thanks to latest electric generators, energy can be recovered efficiently and, thus, power consumption lowered. In addition to generators, the exhibited machine offers an optional main drive that allows for a complete separation of unwinding and winding pressure. Mother rolls of both-sided siliconized paper or composite material that, do not allow high pressures when unwinding, can thus be converted to very narrow roll sizes.

Booth visitors are invited to experience special applications live thanks to the exhibited RAPID D1 with its working widths of 1,600 mm and its rewind diameter of 1,000 mm. Also, GOEBEL IMS provides further information on the many application possibilities of slitter rewinders at the booth.
