exhibitors. The show covered an exhibi-

tion area of over 240,000 sq. metres with

a participation of 3,335 exhibitors from

39 countries and regions, of which 35%

were overseas exhibitors and 14% joined

CHINAPLAS for the first time.

Mr. Stanley CHU, Chairman of Adsale Ex-

hibition Services Ltd., organizer of

CHINAPLAS, said, “We were very happy

to witness the 30th CHINAPLAS making

historical breakthroughs in terms of exhi-

bition area and quantity of exhibitors

and visitors. At CHINAPLAS, exhibitors

and visitors engaged themselves in busi-

ness discussions and negotiations,

whereas all concurrent events won full-

house audience. Making its debut as a

platform only for introducing and im-

porting overseas machinery and materi-

als to China, CHINAPLAS has grown into

an excellent must-visit show for techno-

logy sourcing and exchange among in-

Despite general beliefs that the slump-

ing economy would bring harshness and

challenges to the industry, CHINAPLAS

2016 achieved remarkable results beyond

all expectations. Both exhibitors and visi-

tors were engaged fully at the fairground

amid an active and dynamic business at-

mosphere. With infinite business oppor-

tunities, the 30th CHINAPLAS demons-

trated a promising future for the industry.

CHINAPLAS will keep on moving forward

to achieve another milestone.

The number of visitors amounted to

148,575 in four days, setting a new re-

cord since its debut in 1983. The second

show day saw the peak of visiting num-

bers at a headcount of 54,823. Com-

pared to the show held at Shanghai in

2014, the number of visitors this year in-

creased by 13.96%; and compared to

2015 in Guangzhou, the increase is

15.84%. As CHINAPLAS is well-recog-

nized by the plastics & rubber industries

as well as their downstream sectors glo-

bally, and the gradual improvement of

the living standards of many developing

countries keeps stimulating the demand

for consumer goods and packaging, the

number of overseas visitors this year

reached 39,454, setting a record that re-

presents 26.55% of the total. The ten re-

gions topping the chart are Korea, India,

Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran,

Thailand, Hong Kong, and Malaysia,

among over 160 countries and regions.

Apart from the significant growth in the

number of visitors, CHINAPLAS 2016 also

achieved record heights in the show scale

in terms of exhibition area and number of

CHINAPLAS 2016

dustry professionals and buyers from all

over the world. Right timing, geographi-

cal advantage and strong support from

partners have contributed to the success

of CHINAPLAS. The implementation of

“Re-industrialization” in the West and

the “Made in China 2025” project has

urged the manufacturing enterprises to

conduct business transformation and

technology upgrade. The rise of Asian

emerging countries and the shift of the

global center of economic gravity east-

wards put CHINAPLAS under the spot-

light; thanks to our partners, exhibitors,

buyers and the whole Adsale team,

whose staunch support and effort make

CHINAPLAS 2016 a complete success.”

Next CHINAPLAS will be held on
