this purpose is a proprietary product

of KraussMaffei Berstorff. This Win-

dows-based solution is characterized

by unparalleled user friendliness.

Owing to the intuitive operator guid-

ance, no specific previous knowledge

is required to use the software. Com-

bined with the extensive portfolio of

integrated features, this unsurpassed

ease of use turns ScrewCon 3 into an

ideal tool for designing and docu-

menting the set-up of twin-screw ex-

truder processing sections.

Inventory management for

screw and barrel housing elements

The inventory management fea-

ture for screw and barrel housing

elements offers added benefits to

customers. While configuring the

extruder set-up best suited to the

current requirements, users can au-

tomatically view the available stock

of elements needed for their purpose

and will thus know instantly whether

the desired configuration can be im-

plemented or not.

configuration

A further highlight of the new

ScrewCon 3 software is the simul-

taneous on-screen display of right

and left screws of the twin-screw

extruder. Each screw can thus be

individually designed and even

different elements can be select-

ed for the two screws, if required.

In this case, system visualization

also helps to avoid installation

errors when configuring left and

right screws with different screw

elements.

The clear and true-to-scale visualiza-

tion of screw and housing elements

substantially reduces the time re-

quired to prepare tailored configu-

rations. As the two elements are di-

rectly displayed below each other,

screws and barrel housings can be

perfectly adapted within shortest

time. The user will be able to see in-

stantly whether the two selected ele-

ments match or not. In addition, the

screw elements can be precisely posi-

tioned relative to the barrel housing

openings.
